Things to Do in Vernon

Lakes & Beaches

Vernon gives you access to multiple lakes: Kalamalka Lake to the south, Okanagan Lake to the west, and Swan Lake just north of town. Popular summer spots include Kal Beach on Kalamalka Lake and Kin Beach on Okanagan Lake, plus more secluded areas like Cosens Bay and Ellison Provincial Park for swimming, paddling, and picnics.

Golf

Just south of Vernon, Predator Ridge Resort operates two 18-hole championship courses set above Kalamalka Lake, making it a well-known golf destination in the valley. In town, Vernon Golf & Country Club and Hillview Golf (a shorter, more casual layout) add more options within a short drive of most accommodations.

Family Activities & Parks

In central Vernon, Polson Park offers a large playground, open lawns, and a water play area that's popular with younger kids in summer. Along the lakes, Kin Beach and Kal Beach provide lakefront playgrounds, shallow swimming areas, and picnic spots that work well for low-key family days.

Dining & Local Shopping

Downtown Vernon's 30th Avenue is the main corridor for independent restaurants, cafes, bars, and local retail, with streetfront parking and walkable blocks. For bigger shopping runs, Village Green Shopping Centre and the commercial strip along 27th Street and Anderson Way bring together national retailers, services, and groceries.
